I've only been living gat Normandie for four months now, but am very disappointed with my decision in choosing the apartment building. The night desk is awful. I'm not the crazy tenant that complains a lot, but when I did have a request he pretended to write it down, and when I called him out on it he demanded that he made a 'mental note' of it. Idiots.

As for the building... there is NO ventilation. Going on an average elevator ride (that?s 10 minutes if you go past the 15th floor on the average), each floor has its own distinct odor, due to this problem. Oh, they do have air vents above the stove - unfortunately if you put your hand above it, it blows on it! Sweet, essentially the fan pushes the smell around the apartment; does wonders!

When I arrived the elevators were out of service, or they dedicate one of three to serve as a service elevator. Interesting, two elevators for a building with over thirty floors each comprised of around six apartments per floor. You don?t realize how miserable this is until you experience. And yes, I have had to wait TWENTY minutes just to get an elevator to go downstairs from the 23rd floor? plus the ten extra minutes just to go down. And to add gas to the fire, my windows are obnoxiously dirty, and it seems as though they just hang a window wiper platform on the first floor to make tenants think they will get around to cleaning it. I?m no neat freak, but when your windows look like they went off-roading you get a little perturbed. Worst run building in Manhattan. Regular dorms are run more efficiently than at Dormandie Court. But other tenants are nice.
