It's a nice building, but there's one problem: the elevators. About once every three weeks, one elevator (of three) will be down. On the surface, this doesn't seem like a big deal, but it drastically affects the before and after work rush hours. When this happens, it's typical to wait over 20 minutes for an elevator, and most times they won't come at all, so you're forced to walk down 30 flights of stairs.
I know this may sound like something trivial, but think about how long 20 minutes is where you're standing there waiting for an elevator at 8:30 in the morning, and though they keep coming, they're packed with people. Very, very frustrating.
Aside from that, it's really a glorified dorm: many frat guys and sorority sisters right out of college live there, and it's pretty lame.
And the location is pretty weak: WAY up on the UES at 95th Street. If you've never taken the 4-5-6 to work and would have to if you lived in Normandie, I recommend you do so before living there. It's hands down the worst train in Manhattan.
For these reasons and more I would not recommend Normandie Court to anyone.
