Management is horrible. Not worth it.

The building is decent and the doormen are friendly. However, the management here is absolutely horrible. My lease was up last month and I decided not to renew. They have ridiculous rules about moving in and out and will not bend whatsoever. A few days before I wanted to move out I made an appointment with the office. Something obviously went wrong because when I tried to move on that day they told me that I was not on the list and that I was not ALLOWED to move. I had a moving company on the way and had to call them to cancel (And was charged for canceling on such short notice). I explained to management the situation and they were extremely rude and unfriendly to me. They acted like it was MY fault and that I was wasting their time. I asked to speak to the supervisor and they REFUSED to give me the number. Although this building is somewhat nice, there are plenty of other buildings out there that must have better management, treat their residents better, and actually permit them to move when they want to!

I used to live here, the apartment was nice but the place is so big they let anyone through the doors without checking if your a resident, unless you look like a homeless person. THere are a lot of doormen, but rarely remember anything about their tenants or seem to speak english, not that that welcome tenants or anything nice like that.
Lastly, THE CHARGE YOUR FOR EVERY POSSIBLY THING YOU CAN IMAGINE. Forgot your keys? first time is free, next time is $50. Want to move in a mattress you bought on sale? Nope, not allowed unless you pre-registered (which makes no f-ing sense since people buy items on the spot without planning or knowing schedules weeks in advance) and u gets fined like its a dorm. THe doorman on basemnt level could care less about tenants.
To top it off, rent just got raised in a slumping economy....talk about managerial incompetence. Would not recommend, move to the buildings on 3rd avenue between 91-95th if you cant afford the jump to the 86th street area.
