The apartment was recently redone in overdone style.

Yes, the lobby ceiling may be fancy, but the apartment windows whistle in moderate winds.

The doormen never raise a finger to help; not with packages, suitcases, anything.

Plus, what they don't tell you is that they rent some apartments as an extended stay hotel.

I don't consider that safety.
