Be Very Careful!!!

In addtion to being over priced and situated in a terrible area, the leasing office and management are rude, unhelpful, and scam artists. Post Luminaria is a rent controlled building, and their current status under the 421A Act allows them to increase rent on the first anniversary of an apartment. What this means is that it can increase mid-lease. When we submitted our application and $200 application fee, Kate Deacy, the leasing manager, did not inform us of this increase. When we were informed, the apartment fell outside of our budget. Kate told us we should have known this, which I verified was a ridiculous claim after speaking to 10 other leasing agents. She was also extremely rude. Post Luminaria, Kate Deacy, and Jennifer Jennings (Property Manager) refused to refund the $200 application fee. Jennifer Jennings was also extremely unhelpful and rude. Because the application states that the application fee is non-refunable, we are out $200 even though it is complete misrepresentation.
Words of wisdom.....stay away from this building!
