With rents going up in luxury buildings in Manhattan I can't really complain about River Place. I am in my second apartment in this building, and have lived here for nearly 5 years now. I never hear noises, never have disturbances, the residents are always polite, the gym is not crowded and well equipped, parking is reasonable and very convenient, and the best thing about the place is the staff. Special praise should go to the two Mikes and Jake, with Barry always a welcoming face to see holding the door open after work. They do a great job. Also the leasing staff are efficient and friendly, although you never really need to see them. Maintenance is never a problem, they replaced a fridge once for me in 2 hours. Not that I know him, but it seems that Jay runs a tight shop. All around, this is probably the best rental building in the city if you can afford it. Get an apartment on the River side of the building because the new constructions are noisy during the day... although the windows are thick enough to mitigate that most of the time.
