We have lived here for a few years now. First of all the previous reviewer was terribly uninformed. There IS the upgrade to the high-def dish for Directv (we have it in the building) and secondly, the construction next door was NOT for River Place II (yet). There was a Brownfield cleanup program because the underground was contaminated, as was the ground underneath River Place (not harmful to us).

They lied, said it would be done in 100 days, and the park would be put back. If you look at the site the park is chopped into 1/4 of what it used to be and the park will never be re-built into the same size.

Walter (building manager) is unseen to tenants, does not speak to them, and you have to go through the doorman to get to him... even then you cannot speak with him. Rents are ridiculously high for the neighborhood, many tenants are noisy and rude, unprofessional (it's an 80/20 building so 20% of the apartments are lower income housing).

The entire building creaks when it's windy (which is 75% of the time since you live on the water), the heaters clank, the light fixtures need new bulbs all the time (we had to replace a lightbulb and 3 DAYS later one blew out... we know that's not a problem with the bulbs), and if you're looking to replicate living in a big college dorm complete with garbage that tenants leave in the hallway, management that looks the other way, and rowdy parties after midnight, come on in.
