uncooperative mgmt

For a luxury apartment building, living here has been a disappointment for the following reasons.

1. This building is advertised as a doorman building. The doorman is not always there. Also, the elevator shaft is located behind a locked door. If you are carrying packages you must put them down, take out your key, and then unlock the door and open the door yourself. This may sound lazy, but it gets to be hassle.

2. Within a month of living here, the toliet broke. The mgmt was not responsive to fixing it. The drying machine has gum in it and cannot be used. Furthermore, the laundry card dispenser often breaks. You need to add money to your card at least a day before you plan to do laundry so that they can give you a new card in time.

3. I asked the concierge if I could have a shipment from Home Depot. I was told yes by two different people. The day of the shipment, I come home to be told that the building manager sent the deliverymen away. No one called me at the time of the problem to alert me.

4. The gym is not air-conditioned in the summer.

5. River Place only works with Living Space if you want to build a pressurized wall. I was not impressed with the work done by Living Space; our wall had a dent in it.

6. This last comment is true of many luxury buildings, but still is a huge inconvenience. The freight elevator operates only from 8 to 4 on Monday through Friday. You cannot move any furniture on the weekends, unless it is in a flat box.

All in all, I am not impressed with the mgmt company at River Place. They are not cooperative and are very strict.
