I have been a resident for almost a year, and decided to renew my lease for another year. The rent went up $275 for a 3 flex 4 bedroom 2 bath, so it is overpriced already but split with 4 people, it's not that horrible of an increase. It's cheaper and easier to re-sign a lease instead of looking for a new apartment and all the headaches and moving expenses. The lease signing process is a pain in the ass though- since my roommates are changing, I have to reapply and repay all the app fees, which is a complete waste and pointless. The management is a pain and some people have NO clue what they are doing. I was pissed about the amenities that were taken away- storage room, bike room, and especially the gym entrance on the 2nd floor. It would have been much cheaper for Crunch to hire an employee at minimum wage (or use one of the other employees since they all sit around doing nothing anyway) to sit by that door and monitor who comes in and out. I didn't give a damn about the color of the walls on the 2nd floor or the mailroom floor, don't try to tell me that is a great amenity in exchange for losing my gym entrance. And I love sitting on the roof, but please provide some chairs or lounges up there or something! Luckily, my apartment has not had any major problems. Minor things, maintenance is very quick to address and does a good job. Valet needs later hours. And yes, it can get very noisy because of the fire engines and Lincoln tunnel traffic. The doormen are great, very friendly and accomodating. I like my apartment, the space is really nice and it is nicer than many of the places I have seen around the city. I will stay the next year (provided I don't get fed up in this reapplication process and call it quits), and then most likely move next year when my rent goes up yet again.

Question: i too have a 3 bedroom flex 4 bedroom, 2 bath. I've heard they are no longer allowing the man made wall dividers? did they not give you a hard time on this? they said it is against fire regulations which is complete BS.

It would definitely help to have the man made wall dividers. I am in one of the two bedrooms sharing with two others. I am planning to ask the fire department next door. It's BS that it's not allowed.
