Avoid this building

After almost 7 years at Riverbank West I have finally had it and am thrilled to be out of this poorly managed joke of a residential building.

While Roseland Property Management has never been known for being a great management company, and Riverbank West has always had a mediocre reputation, the situation went from ok to simply horrible once Brian Sanchez was brought in as manager. He and his staff have proven themselves to be completely incompetent and they try to mask their incompetence through arrogance and total disregard for the building s tenants. Top this with annual rent increases of 15% for the privilege of living in this building.

Would it just be that I alone have had a bad experience I would not criticize the building, however, there is not one tenant with whom I have spoken who has anything other than complete disdain for the current management.

While the management situation is one aspect of the problems with this building, there are many other reasons to avoid Riverbank West. While the views are great, and are the reason I stayed in the building, other issues abound. Noise is one major issue. Even with the windows closed the noise levels are overbearing at all times of the day. A second problem is maintenance. I actually gave up on calling the maintenance department a long time ago because I would waste time waiting for them to show and then not do anything. For example, my bedroom air conditioner was not cooling, when maintenance came I was told it meets their acceptable cooling levels . In the meantime I was not able to sleep in the Summer since it was so hot in the bedroom.

I could go on and on but suffice it to say this is one building that anyone looking for a nice place to live should avoid.

Given the large number of lawyers living in Riverbank, I wonder how often the mean/arrogant/incompetent management ends up in court?

This place is definitely going down hill fast. Sanchez has brought new meaning to the term "low".

I totally agree. I mean, moving into a building with a police station and a fire station right next door. I'm completely baffled as to why there is noise... Wait, no I'm not... this is New York City... the city that never sleeps, remember? If you wanted a quiet place to live, you should have moved to the suburbs.
