Don't Be Fooled By The Rocks ...

This is a complex of 7 buildings near Harlem Hospital, bordered by W 139 and W 142 Sts north-to-south and Malcolm X Blvd (aka Lenox Ave) and 5 Ave east-to-west. At first glance it looks like a nice clean place based on the facade of the buildings - wait until you get inside! It is a crackhouse waiting to happen (speaking of crack, I just saw an empty vial at the entrance of my building just this morning). In the 3 years since I moved here, a number of derelicts and pigs have moved in and have brought down the quality big-time! Floors are filthy and the hallways are in dire need of repainting. The putrid smells that eminate the halls and from under some apartment doors are incredible. Some tenants also allow their dogs to urinate in the elevators and leave a puddle behind. This happens at least weekly. The once-flawless elevator walls are now victim to key-scratched graffiti. Other tenants blast their stereos without regard to their neighbors right to quiet. Parking spaces in the complex have all been allotted and the waitlist is almost a year long. Street parking is ridiculously scarce - expect to drive around at least 30 minutes for a spot in the evenings. A month before I moved in a little girl had been raped on the rooftop of one building ... that should have been a sign. Well-built and sturdy, they would be ideal condos for the right people. I heard recently the complex was sold, so who knows what is in store ... I could go on and on and on ... glad I am moving out and far far away later this year. Simply put, this place is GHETTO and is no better than the NYCHA projects ... run away while you can! In fact, if you run 2 blocks west on W 139 you'll find beautifully restored brownstones worth much more of your hard-earned cash! Don't even visit this place! Qlkxv6lfLuuXn3BrtpO7

Im a tenant for the past 20yrs at first delano was a cool place to live now the new owners of Savoy Park are not renewing my lease because they feel my mother didnt put me on the lease,so the new owners want to put me out. This is unfair for a tenant thats been here for so long.

what is a "hold over eviction notice" never heard of such!
From: xixi1544 Date: 10/14/2008
in response to anonymous : a hold-over is just as good as an eviction notice if u don't answer it. if u don't believe me ask any lawyer. i hope babiegirl answered her notice as savoy park is getting rid of a lot of tenants by bringing holdover notices against them and they believe they have no recourse but to move.

I agree. Don't move there! If you like stinky elevators, homeless people wandering the hallways and maintenance taking months to fix a problem in your apartment, then for all means move there. But, if you don't (and I don't think you are) RUN away from that ---- hole.
