Overall I am happy with the apartment building.

Pros: The location is great. Central park, the subway and Whole Foods are all 2 blocks away. 9th ave south of 57th street has a ton of restaurants and bars. My apartment has open views of downtown and the Hudson river. You can even see the Statue of Liberty in the distance. The apartment itself is quiet. I haven't heard any noise throught the walls or ceiling. Construction is pretty standard. My apartment has not been renovated recently, but all of the appliances are fairly new.

Cons: The gym and pool are extra, but in my opinion, not worth the cost. The gym is fairly small and the equipment is old. The laundry facilities are OK, but there are often a couple of machines that are out of service. With the exception of food deliveries, the doormen don't check people coming into the building. Anybody can just walk in.
