The place is nice and the apts. are reasonable in size but all of this is completely negated by the rent hikes. Stuyvesant Town gives you great incentives and perks in order to move in, but once you do, they hike up your rents at ridiculous rates. Also, management is just HORRIBLE. They are penny pinchers at the expense of the tenants. They just changed the washing machines and screwed everyone who had money in their cards. Now the washing machines don't work so they're screweing us again on our new cards we just bought and put money in. I'm personally down about $50 dollars on their washing machine scam. This is just one example of the multiple ways Stuy Town scams their tenants.
Tischman Speyer overpaid for Stuyvesant Town and now they are shamelessly pincheing pennies at the tenants' expense.
Stuyvesant is marketed as a nice community at a great price, but don't be fooled by the nice packaging because what you will find "inside" the packaging is rotten.

A good price to suck you in, also they give you $500 and a friend who lives there and gets you to sign up $500.

They give you one month free rent and might be flexible when you move in, but don't mention the noise, roaches, brown water and 25% rent increase.
