after reading all the reviews i thought of writing something myself...my family and i lived at first(2005)in sty town and recently moved into peter cooper...we loved this place because of the parklike setting and the playgrounds. i never found the apt to be so lux...but comfortable...however, things have changed. the noise level has gone up...i am not sure if it's the nyc students or young professionals but it is horrible. when the young people below me have parties on weekends we are up to 2-3 until they go out because of the screams and lound music. these days security shows up about an 1-2 after you call. at least this was my experience recently. some time ago they use to come right away and even came up to your apt. however, not the last few times. we have small children so i find this to be a big problem. but this is just one of many problems. the "new" heating system is awful...i have a portable heater in every room (on most of the time) because it gets very cold. for example in the last couple of days it was below freezing and the heat was not on in part of the apt...i am paying well over $4000 for my apt and am anger with these conditions...thankfully i have not seen any roaches...but our hallways are in a terrible state... i would not recommend this place...if you asked me 2 1/2 years ago i would say go for it but now i am just waiting to get out myself. hope this is helpful...
