Good location, frightening rent increases

I have lived in Symphony House for over a year and would have stayed if the rent hadn't increased so drastically. I like the location, love the views of the Hudson, and love the gym and pool on the rooftop (there is a fee for the gym, but you can negotiate a discount when you sign your lease).
Once you get past the brusque personality in the management office, you'll have a pleasant stay. I have never thought of the doorman as unfriendly, but one of them is particularly nice. So nice, in fact, that he makes up for what any of the others may lack.
I am mixed on the office staff. They do their job - you can actually count on them, but they don't win points in the "nice" category.
