A hidden treasure

It is a great neighborhood--right by a park--and only a 5-minute walk from the Grand Central. I have always wanted to live in this area. However, most of the buildings in the area have typically been either super-duper luxury (e.g., the Trump Tower) or old and roach-infested-looking (e.g., anything in the Tudor City area). So, I was elated when I found the Turtle Bay Towers, which offered large apartments in a door-man bldg for a reasonable rent.
First, the foyer area is incredible, and I have not seen anything like it in all of NYC. The entire floor has been designed to be one big lobby, and it looks almost like an ourdoor garden. Then, each floor has very wide corridors, which is unusual in NY. My apartment has 14-ft ceilings, which makes my apartment look and feel much bigger than it actually is.
They appear to be pushing the sale of these units, so the rental market might be tight. But get a unit in this bldg if you can--you won't regret it.

I am taken aback by the comment in the review about "old and roach-infested-looking (e.g., anything in the Tudor City area)." How dare you! I have lived in Tudor City since 2001 and not only is my luxury building roach free, it is not "old" in the run down sense - it is "old" in the pre-war "they don't build them like this anymore" sense.
