I have lived here for over 4 years now.
Pros:
Safe, has a nice plaza that was recently renovated.
Doorman and maintenance services are great and friendly.
Good location in terms of proximity if you work in VA, Bellevue, or NYU Hospital.
Very nice view and quiet for those units overlooking to the East River.
Love the program during summer (band, movie).
Best place to watch 4th of July fireworks.
Cons:
Old apartment with very poor insulation. It is true that you can virtually hear your neighbours' conversation.
Noisy for those units overlooking to the FDR Highway, eventhough you close the windows.
Unlike many apartments in Manhattan where subway is just one or two blocks away, WSP is relatively far from subway (15 minutes walk), the only M16 bus is hardly come on time, especially during weekend.
Very poor and arrogant management. So unapproachable when I tried to negotiate when they increased the rent last year.
Not surprising, I've seen people moving out starting few months ago and I myself start looking for other apartments who offer better deal nowadays. The marketing office tries to attract new tenants with a lower rent that the rent paid by current tenants. It doesn't seem that the marketing office is fully aware of the current rental market trend in Manhattan.
