Do NOT rent at the Wellesley.

During the past month I have been trapped in my apartment during a fire in the building that does not have smoke/fire alarms and trapped in the elevator between the 32nd and 33rd floors.

The building owners do not care about the safety of their tenants.

This is what I get for $4000 a month' You can do much better.

I am in complete agreement with you. I lived in the building for 15 years which was way too long and was treated quite disrepectfully. The resident manager in The Wellesley is the worlds worst and has a terrible attitude. He will only follow through on a tenants request regarding a repair or a problem if you grease his palms first. The rental agent for The Wellesley is not a nice person as well. She too has an attitude. The management certainly knows how to increase the rent each year and provides you with no amenities for it. To all, please be careful. Where you think that you are getting a good deal in the monthly rent prior to moving into The Wellesley, I guarantee that the management will give you a rent increase after the first year and it will be a substantial one! My advice is, be wise and careful in your selection of the next building you choose to live.
