Honestly don't know why some people have given The Wellesley a bad review - we've lived here for over 2 years, and love it. We've never had ANY building maintenance problems, and when we've needed anything in our apartment attended to (leaky faucet, burnt out overhead light, etc.), and we've called the Super, we've gotten a response and the needed item fixed within hours of our call. Yes, there was a fire, but that was NOT the buildings fault - it was an accident and could have happened anywhere. The clean-up post fire was very prompt and was completed quickly. We've never had any problems with the elevators - I honestly feel other reviewers are exaggerating the elevator maintenance issue - yes, there has been some maintenance on the elevators over the past year (but not anytime recently in the last 4-5 months), and we've rarely, if ever, had to wait more than 1-2 minutes for an elevator. The super, the rental agent, and the doormen are all very helpful and friendly, the gym is great, there's laundry on every floor, and it's a quiet building. Highly recommend living in The Wellesley - we've loved it for the 2 years!

On another note - we have a car and have NEVER had a problem finding street parking, nor have we ever had any problems (with safety) with parking on the street.
