I moved to Manhattan for a short period of time (9 months) and was looking for a clean, safe place in a good location. I think the West Coast Apartments fit the bill.
I don't have too many complaints. The only things I can think of are 1)Our soap dish kept falling off the wall. It was repaired each time by "Israel," the very friendly and helpful repair person. The other complaint was with the heating and cooling. It seems that it is beyond a resident's control, and pumps out heat for pre-determined dates. So, if its a warm day in March, it will still probably be heating your place.
When we moved in, the kitchen and bath had been totally and tastefully remodeled.
Much of the staff is very friendly. Richard, the doorman, was a great guy and so were several of the others, though I didn't remember their names.
There is a rooftop garden, which is pleasant enoung. The other Rockrose building accross the street has a gym, which the 110-114 residents can't use - I think they should reconsider that.
On the whole, the location is great, the building is clean, and the staff is friendly. I wouldn't hesitate to live there again.
