Great building, very quiet neighborhood

The building is very nice, especially for the price. It has one of the longest pools I've seen in a Manhattan apartment building. However, it's a 10 block walk to get to the bar scene and a 10 minute walk to the subway. If you're like me you don't mind that, but some people want to be right in the middle of things... I'd prefer to spend $1000 less a month and walk.
I live in a one bedroom that faces west - I can see the sunset out my window to the Hudson every night which I really like. I'm moving from a walkup to this place so I'm thrilled about the doorman and amenities so far, only been here a week but it's great having a dishwasher, laundry, gym in the building.
Occasionally I can hear my neighbors but it hasn't been loud. People seem friendly.
There are almost no restaurants on West End Ave. but two grocery stores within a block, guess I'm going to learn to cook.
All in all, I'm happy.
