Another Basement Renter Ready to Move Out

My wife and I have been living here since the summer of 2005. When we first signed and moved in everything was ok. Then it started going downhill. As others have stated, being in the basement is the worst. We already threw out one bookshelf because it was rotted, due to an unknown source of water seeping into the apartment. Our bed has mold growing on it and one of our bedside tables is rotted as well. I wouldn't be suprised if more of our furniture is moldy, and without re-arranging our entire apartment we won't find out until me move out.

We've contacted the staff about a couple of things and each time we speak with them on the phone they have been very rude, almost like it's our fault the building is poorly maintained. Then when the maintenance staff stops by they don't even speak to us while they are milling around in our apartment. They also never tell us what they are doing or when they are done. They just leave and expect us to know what is happening.

In the summer of 2006 our upstairs neighbor flooded their bathroom so bad that water was coming down into our apartment. The staff came in to "fix" the water damage and ended up giving the top of my Stickly dresser a dosage of spackle. Thankfully they never finished the job and both my bedroom and my bathroom walls are still to this day uneven from the wall "repair." This was good and bad, good that my dresser didn't get any more of their quality treatment, and bad because it shows the comlete and utter lack of followthrough that this company has.

Most recently a quarter of our bedroom floor became wet from a leaky corner of the building. They were in our apartment again bumbling around, and they knocked our stuff off of our furniture and then didn't even have the curtesy to appologize. Again they left, and didn't say anything too us. Mind you, we were in the living room watching TV and looked at them as they walked out. Come to find out they had pulled our carpet up and cut out a section of padding. 5 Days later and no word from the office I figured that I should call the office. I did so and the poor customer service continued. Side Note: The outside contractor that came in to shampoo the carpets was very nice and quaint and appologized for the inconvenience.

I should also mention the long walk to our corner lot building. There are 7 Buildings worth of people parking in one of their lots which for this complex is far too many. It doesn't even make sense because other lots of the exact same size are for 3 buildings. If you plan on coming home after 8pm, you're going to be lucky if you get a parking spot anywhere near the building you're living in.

Overall the experience has been a very poor one and I wouldn't reccomend anyone living here. There are far nicer places to live for the price, and far better people to rent from.

sounds like you are more upset about the basement than the complex! you also seem like a PITA to deal with! hard to satisfy, never happy...

Anickt777 seems like a complete tool, I have lived there for 2 years and i cant wait to get out!! the staff is a f@*king Joke. The short maintenance guy that drives the plow is an idiot, my 3 year old son is smarted that that prike. Dont move here, the places are very old the heating and air con. are awwful its always way to hot. I could go on and on but just trust me there are way nicer places to live for what the charge.
