I have lived at Penbrooke for over three years now. I have had minimal issues with this complex. One of the only problems I have ever had was with insects in my first apartment here. It was a basement apartment(half was in the dirt), so I would expect nothing less than bugs crawling around. When I did complain, maintenance always came to fix EVERY problem. They were prompt and curteous. I also had some obnoxious teens living next door that smoked pot and were loud, and the smoke would come into my apartment. I have a small child, so this was definitely not cool. I complained a couple of times, had to get a police report, and Penbrooke did the respectable thing, and kicked them out. I have lived in three different apartments here, 2 two bedrooms and a 3 bedroom townhouse. Each inspection went smoothly, and I got my deposit back in full, very quickly(actually it was before they said I would get it-BONUS). The only problem that I have had with the staff is that the office girls are sometimes snotty. That is definitely their own problem though, how can you take it personally' As long as they are doing their job, and what you ask for gets done, let them be miserable. My day is not affected, neither is my homelife. I love Penbrooke, I will always think of it as home, and will miss it when my family and I eventually get a house. I AM NOT A STAFF MEMBER, and NO ONE PAYED ME TO WRITE THIS.

I moved from 2 to 3 bedroom and they charged me 175$ for two little spots on the carpet and the stove(apparently it was not clean enough), moved out next year, and they charged me another 120$ - I know a lot of people , who moved out, and I dont' know anybody, who received the deposit back in full :) And YES, there all kind of insects there(in apartments and basements, and NO- they(the maintenance) will not help to get rid of them... Management is very bad, people in the office mean and not helpful at all, especially DORINDA- hopefully they will get rid of her soon ! Looks like this review is written by employee... PENBOOOKE APARTMENT SUCKS!!!! DO NOT MOVE HERE!!!!!

Very bad place, horrible management, very rude maintenance. They will charge you for every repair work. Repair is never done fast. If you place a repair order- in the best case scenario they will fix it next day, in the worth- forget to place an order. Basements have leaking problems.. They charged my neighbor 15$ for repairing widows screen. The maintenance said that somebody broke the screen.. I checked all the windows screens in my apartment and 4 of 5 are broken and I did not even touch them. So if you still want to rent here, make sure that you inspect the apartment carefully because later they will charge you for repair. Bottom line- DO NT MOVE HERE!!!
