Do not rent here!

We had many problems with Mountain Brook...
1.Our water was turned off (without any notice) many, many times. We were late to work because maintenance would turn off the water...sometimes while we were in the shower. They knew we were home.
2. The majority of maintenance was weird. The apartment below us was constantly having bathroom problems (we leaked into theirs). Mountain Brook really needed to remodel both of our bathrooms. They instead "fixed" them. We had different tiles, totally unmatching, by our bathtub. Because maintenance was barging in and out of the apartment (basically knocking once, yelling maintenance, and then coming in), I began to feel uncomfortable when taking a shower if my husband wasn't home.
3. Speaking of the bathrooms...it was the most disgusting one I've seen in years. 1960's blue tile. Filth that wouldn't come off. Bathtub was painted over and then proceeded to peel. The walls were painted over, but the color was so dingy. Ugh. Horrible.
4. Management (they were really fun to deal with) wouldn't allow us to view the apartment until the first day of our lease. This, to me, is a scam. You see the model apartment and that's it. We were having furniture delivered that first day and were very annoyed to see the condition of the bathroom. We had to be out of our current apartment that weekend. I wish we would have had time to insist on a better apartment.
I could go on and on with Mountain Brook's faults. I did want to say that we had fairly new appliances (with the exception of the crappy AC they gave us). Our new apartment complex did not. And the garbage dumpsters were close. Parking was good towards the end because many of the apartments were empty. I would definetly not recommend that anyone move there. The only reason I can think of is that they allow dogs now. Our neighbor allowed them to crap in our yard though, so it wasn't a benefit to me. Move to Ridgefield or possibly Colonial Manor instead. Much nicer!!!
P.S. Do not lose the laundy/fitness room key. They charge you $40 dollars to replace it.
