Let us start of by saying Mountain Brook Apartments SUCKED! We were amazed by the nice model apartment they showed us and the beautiful outside scenery with nicely cut grass and trimmed shrubs. 1st, our nightmare started when they tried putting us in a slightly slanted to an angle apartment (bad foundation on 1st floor). Then by luck they got us in another apartment on the 2nd floor! But we had no choice but to move there. 2nd our bill statements were ALWAYS incorrect starting with the first month!! They have the worst payment system too. Its a joke trying to beat their billing system which led to late fees and "other" fees. We basically got ripped off!!! 3rd They shut off water consistanly at the worst times!!! The cheaply painted apartment are water based painted and also peals and chips by the slightest touch.(which you have to pay for) also the bathroom tiles were cracked when we moved in and the bathtub basically peeled all away by the end of our lease. 4th the parking is a freakin joke!!! you pay to park there and "other" people take spots. We had alot of trouble with parking and i had ONLY 1 CAR!! Not to mention numerous parties which takes up spots and make alot of noise at night or EARLY morning. Called the cops AND management for noise and nothing was done. If you try to park anywhere else they tow you the next day!!! The fire detectors never worked either! 5th people ARE spying on you!!!! Especially the grounds keepers who act like they are working but are really walking around not minding their own business. 6th everyone's cars gotten broken into at 3 in the morning waking up to the police asking if anything was stolen. Luckly not! 7th after 3 months we lived there, there was a HOMICIDE, YES a HOMICIDE at the entrance of the complex!Then 6 months later there was ANOTHER shooting.....at the PLAYGROUND! Nice place for your kids to play right' WRONG! Oh and a pizza delivery got robbed at gun point! The reason for the criminal activity is that they leave out the complex is 2 blocks away from the worst area in poughkeepsie! 8th, the mail boxes were horrible! I always came home with mail hanging out beacuase the mailbox locks didn't work. There is also a FEE if you lock yourself out!!!!!! 9th, the management was.....i can't even finish, you get the picture! 10th I DO NOT RECOMMEND MOVING HERE! IF YOU DO, GOD BLESS!!!
