I did a LOT of research before deciding on moving to Ridgefield. We have been here for 2 years now and are only leaving because we are relocating to Connecticut. Gail is a sweetheart and will always help you. The maintenance are also very prompt and pleasant to work with.
For instance our older fridge was having some troubles. We called Gail and she had a maintenance guy come over. Five minutes later he's there, told us the fridge was bad and was going to replace it. Ten minutes later he had a brand new one for us. He even offered to move our food for us. Definitely good people.
As for neighbors, we have some very nice neighbors (I've never seen any ------- refugees.) At first we had an older gentleman living above us that was so sweet. Unfortunately he moved away and a large family came in and is quite noisy above us. I swear they move their furniture around every night! But bad neighbors are every where and they really aren't THAT bad.
The only real complaint (besides -our- neighbors) is the appliances in our kitchen are a bit dated. The dishwasher's detergent latch won't open if you close it and sometimes it just doesn't clean well in general. Stove is also dated but has never given us a problem. Also, there is not much kitchen space at Ridgefield.
Other than that, this is a GREAT place to live and is defintiely one of the best in Poughkeepsie. Just DON'T go to the apartments across the street (We call is "stabby town" since the cops are there quite often). Ridgefield is safe, comfortable, and great quality!
