Haven't noticed some of the same issues

I have lived in Vassar Garden Apartments since 2002 and I really have not noticed some of the things other people are saying, although I agree the apartments are awful and the owner/superintendent do not respond well. The walls are paper thin and the bathroom shower constantly leaks onto the floor and into the downstairs neighbors apartment because the bathtub is crooked and looks like it is falling into the floor. While numerous attempts at repairs have been made, they usually just throw a little caulk into the corners and call it a day. The walls are paper thin and I can always hear the neighbors arguing downstairs. None of the windows close and some don't open but thankfully I don't pay for the heat but it is a safety concern being that when they don't close, they don't lock. The kids are not supposed to play outside but there is no where for them to go. I will not allow my children to go where I can't see them. I have never noticed any drug use or sale but maybe I am just blind to that stuff. I do see the police in there often in the summer months. In the past I had numerous leaks in the living room ceiling that were never addressed until the new owners came in. I had to do the inside repairs myself though because there was mold growing from all the leaks and they were taking their sweet old time coming to repair it (old owners). The new owner, however is a snotty ----- and has done nothing but put some carpeting in the hallways, some new sidewalks and planted some grass seed for my rate increases. The kitchen countertops were new when I moved in but were put together so badly, they are crooked, and have gaps. The cabinets were so cheap they are all breaking now and some don't close. It has gotten better over the years with some of the riff raff now gone, but I would not recommend the place.
