If you are looking for a nice quiet comfortable place to live you may want to continue your apartment search. We were promised a two bedroom with a loft for a Feb 21 move in, we were notified less than two weeks prior that the apartment could not be moved in until May 15. This is after we had been promised that we would be able to move in and were let out of the lease on our current apartment which was rented to others already. We were given the option of living in the model for a week while they prepared the apartment that we were to live in until the new apartment was in move in condition. When I asked our rental agent about some sort of break for all of the inconveniences we were put through I was told that it was not their policy to do that and they could rent to someone else if we did not take it. Apparently rudeness is part of their policy. We finally moved in to the interim apartment on Feb 28 and all was good, or so we thought.

Upon living there for a month or so the weather started to get warmer and found that every child that lived in the complex was in our immediate vicinity. These are not your ordinary children, they are the most discourteous and obnoxious children I have ever seen, and the more that were present the worse it was. It was like you were asking for a kidney if you wanted to drive through the current game of, softball, kickball, Frisbee etc. to get to your driveway. Once while walking our newborn in her stroller one was throwing rocks and almost hit my daughter. That was pretty much when we made our decision to leave Mansion and look for someplace a little better.

The buildings are very cheaply built. They cut a lot of corners on items that really shouldn't have. The appliances are about the worst that can be bought. The oven would often take an hour to heat to 350 degrees, other times it would be fine. The dishwasher couldn't get dishes clean after one cycle. We didn't have any problems with the heating or water systems. Our heating/electric bills were not anything outrageous. I think the coldest month we were there was about $150. We were fortunate to have a fireplace in our unit; it was the only source of heat during the several power outages we saw in the six months we lived there.

The ground keeping leaves much to be desired. From the snow melting in the spring until about the middle of June there was what appeared to be a pair of sweatpants on the lawn. Eventually the got picked up after being mowed over several times. The grounds are often littered with trash and animal waste. In order to have a pet you are required to sign more paperwork than was required for the purchase of my car with their rules, regulations and such. They charged a non-refundable $500 fee in order for our spayed and declawed cat to live there.

Their facilities were quite nice. The only problems were that if you wanted to use the pool you needed to put up with the same children that wouldn't get out of the street.

The majority of the people you had to wonder how they could even afford these apartments. I expected a little higher class neighbors seeing as I was paying almost $1000/month in rent. On more than one occasion I saw people sleeping in their car across the street from me. I don't know where these people come from, but where I come from you just don't do that.

Parking was almost non-existent. Luckily they didn?t tow people parked in front of the no parking signs as it was the only available spot reasonably close to our place. Other residents didn?t know better than to park on the corners where the roads intersected and obscuring oncoming traffic. It wouldn?t be so bad if it were just cars parked there, but it was giant trucks with trailers carrying things like steam rollers or car carriers.

I am sure that I am leaving out a lot of things that I disliked about Mansions at Tech Park, but if I had read this review before moving in I am certain that I would have never wasted my time and money with these clowns.

I have to agree with EVERYTHING in this review. We are still at Mansions, but only until the end of our lease. This place is a joke...and not a very funny one. We are paying $1200 per month for a 2 bedroom townhouse. Since we moved in in October of 07, our heating/AC unit has been serviced 8 times. Two weeks ago, I contacted the Office to tell them our heat and AC did not work. We've made about seven calls since then. Someone finally showed up to look at the unit this week...heat is working but no AC. And I doubt I'll have any success getting it fixed until it's too hot to stand the living conditions! My counter still has bleached out areas on it. They promised to replace it in November. Now there's a new owner/management company and my hopes of having that fixed are zero. Our dishwasher also does not get anything clean without being run at least twice. We do a lot of dishes by hand. The stove/oven and refrigerator are incredibly cheap. On the stove, there is only one large burner. One of the smaller ones rarly works. The linoleum is the absolute cheapest material you can imagine. It cracks and stains and needs constant cleaning. The washer and dryer are bargain basement. The paint on the walls? CANNOT wash it down. It is all flat paint and very chintzy. The carpet as well. It took me two months to get them to reglaze our main bathroom tub. It was so filthy and stained that you could actually SEE the old tenants foot prints in the dirt! Again, they promised it would be taken care of within days of our move-in, but they "got busy" with other projects. Thank goodness we had TWO baths! The grounds are not well kempt and the neighbors are definitely of a different breed in here. I wondered myself if there wasn't a portion of Section 8 housing. I have no idea where these people come from but they are "street". AND THESE ARE ADVERTISED AS LUXURY TOWNHOMES!!!!! What a laugh!!! And by the way...third management company in as many years.
