It seems as though the previous writer failed to take MANY things into consideration. First, she is residing in the second phase of the complex that was built with all the flaws of the first phase in mind. I can't imagine that she would be experiencing the cold rooms that result in high heating bills, leaking windows that push out of the wall, and poor overall positioning of rooms. Our Nimo bill is close to three hundred dollars when, in fact, we are working professionals who are not home all day! We caulked around all of the windows and applied plastic over the windows this winter with no apparent decrease in our bill! Our windows, when raining, become saturated on the outside and, with any amount of pressure, can be pushed out (literally) from the wall! The design of our "luxury townhouse" enables us to hear (clearly) our neighbors coming up their stairs while we lay in bed.
While the second phase is just a few months old, phase one is almost two years old. The roads are riddled with potholes that have yet to be repaired. The parking is beyond awful, as the curvy layout of the complex does not permit for ample parking. While this has not effected me directly, it does make my drive through the complex a bit like an obstacle course. That does not take into account the obnoxious, unsupervised children and yound teens that reside in the complex and throw rocks at most cars passing by! Management is quite well aware of them and has done nothing! In fact, management has done nothing about any complaints!
The playground is not much of anything and I can't imagine that ths occupies any child for a substantial amount of time. Because of the layout, children need to be strictly supervised in order to avoid walking into the heavy-traffic areas. (I am not sure who would allow their small children to play in the woods that are densely saturated with wildlife (ticks) and garbage dumped by, most likely, past tenants!).
With regard to the notion that there are so few complaints posted...an educated person would be able to surmise that this is due to others (a) not having an awareness of this site, (b) not using the internet, and/or (c) not wanting to invest the time to post.
Please do not be fooled by the beautiful facades of this complex. That is exactly what they have to offer...a FACADE!!!
Perhaps people stay because of the pet policy (though many people take advantage and do not pick-up after their dogs!). Maybe it is because, like us, they are locked into a lease while they are looking to buy a home. There is also such a thing as apathy...
If the office staff would take a more repsonsive approach and visible changes were being made, I imagine that there might be fewer complaints. They spend a great deal of money on ladnscaping,w hich is, in fact, quite spectacular! However, this is just another aspect of the wonderful facade! The previous writer obviously has not been here through the spring season. This spring woudld be a great opportunity to walk around and ask people how they like their surroundings. Maybe then you will have a clue!
