We've lived in our Phase I two bedroom with loft for 1.5 years. We only resigned our lease for the second year due to the birth of our baby TWO WEEKS before our current lease ended. As we head into another winter we are regreting it already...

Cold' These people are not exagerating. Not only is there no insulation, there is no heating duct near the entry way on our first floor. When we asked the property managers what to do we were told we could hang a sheet at the top of the stairs to block the cold air or we could run an electric heater down in the entry way. For over $1000 a month in rent we are supposed to hang up a sheet''''' There is no electrical outlet in the entry way so unless we put a cord all the way up the stairs or through the door to the garage, either way very unsafe, an electric heater is not an option.

Repairs/Maintainance' We've had no problems. Unless you consider coming home from work to find that your carpets have been shampooed for the second time in two months...with no notice to us. We weren't prepared and found that the cleaners just moved what they wanted to, including throwing my clean laundry onto my bathroom floor. A broken dryer and broken garbage disposal were fixed in a reasonable timeframe (but should they be broken in this short period of time').

Parking' I'll never really understand. People park all over the streets here. Everyone has a garage and a driveway, ample room for two cars. However, hardly anyone uses both their garage and driveway. I'm not sure if this is because they are lazy or because most folks seem to be using the garage for storage. Either way parking anywhere is allowed by management. I've never seen a car towed...which could be a good or bad thing, depending on your situation!

Facilities' We don't use them. Haven't used the gym or the pool. Always too crowded and not for me. The playground is generally desolate except for the crazy unsupervised kids mentioned earlier making it impossible for small children to enjoy. Although it's not designed for small children anyway. There is really no "safe" place for children under 5 to play here.

All of that considered, it is an apartment. It is expected that you will hear your neighbors, have to share space, deal with parking, smell cooking from other apartments, etc... I've found that living here is not any better or worse then living in any other apartment I've rented. You really have to think about what is important to you before moving in here.
