I signed a 15 months contract, I had to leave before the end of the contract because of Job relocation to another state(plus I bought a new house), I ended up paying EVERY MONTH, FOR 4 MONTHS, a total of $ 3000 because they refused to terminate the lease, altough I tried to negotiate with them. I also payed the electricity bill for these 4 months, although nothing in the apartment is on. They also already told me 2 months ago, that my security deposite is not coming back... as simple as this, because they need to clean the carpet (that they did not even see yet)... and they told me I might pay more once they inspect the apartment. Last month was the last month I am paying them, I don't know if I will recieve more bills from them. All what I know that I was paying for a new house I am living in and CARRIAGE GELN apartment that I was NOT living in, $ 800 A MONTH.
the complex is the best inthat area, but the managment is BAD!

What did you expect. A lease is a legally binding contract with the management company. I have lived in apts almost my entire adult life and except for my years in the military where I had what was known as a military escape clause I was expected to live in the apt until the lease was up. You chose to leave before your lease was up therefore you are subject to penalties as spelled out in your lease. I would be very surprised if any lawyer disagreed with me on this.
