I had a terrible experience living at 277 N Goodman for 1 year. I couldn't wait to leave. The tenant above me was evicted b/c he had loud parties and assaulted some tenants--we had to call the police on him every weekend. Noise is a general problem in the building. The management is disorganized and it takes weeks to have simple maintenance done. They usually forget about it and you have to remind them every couple days. The outside doors to the building are left unlocked (regardless of the security sytem) so that the upstair pilates clients can get in the building. This has led to vandalism, stole vehicles, and random people wandering the building. When I moved out, Stern was having trouble filling the building with tenants. This has caused their tenant quality to drop. Appliances were at least 5 years old. Overall, I think you can find a better place to rent in Rochester for the money. On the plus side, my heating bill was very cheap. Stern heats the common areas to 66, which is enough to keep your apt warm during the day and night. However, they have stopped air conditioning the building in the summer to save money.
