I am going on my second year at Westbrooke. Since the begining it has been a nitemare! When we first moved in, they told us we were getting one apartment.. then a week later they said they promised it to someone else so we got another apartment. After less than a month we got an eviction notice telling us we owed them like $315.00. We had a court date and everything. I was in another state so my father called threatening to take them to court. It turned out they applied our security deposit to someone else's apartment. They actually owed us $40. Our heating bills were out of control, our electrice during the summer was awful. Our basement leaked and smelled like mold for months. our back stairs to the backyard were falling off the side of the house and when I called the office, they fixed it with two pieces of wood. The backyard is a swamp and could barely be used. There are children everywhere and I have complained numerous times and the office says they will send out flyers for parents to be careful of their kids, but do nothing. They run all over the complex, play near cars I got a scratch on my car from one of their bikes. If you ask them to move they give you a dirty look and continue on their way. the parking is ok in the summer, but when all the students (and I am one) come back.. since there are more people living in the apartments then there should be the space is limited. I am now trying to move out of a 3 bedroom townhouse to a 2 bedroom, one person told I could move in on the 27 of august.. then another one said I have to be out of my current apartment by the 15. It is absolute hell. I am not even in the state right now and neither is my other roommate. The only reason I renewed my lease was because it is close to campus and I really didn't want to move again. I do not reccomend this place. The office is a joke and need to work on their communication skills, the apartments are so cheaply fixed, and their are disrespectful children playing all over the complex who's parents I am sure will sue you in a heartbeat. Stay away!!!
