I am excited to say that I have just moved out of my townhouse at Westbrooke Commons. This apartment complex did not impress me at all. Within my first two weeks of moving in, I came home to hear water running. I had no idea where it was coming from and checked the shower and all the sinks. Finally I realized water from a swamp in the backyard was pouring into and flooding our basement. The smell was disgusting and the problem was not solved for weeks. Everything in the basement was soaked and frogs came in with the water. This rendered the basement useless and I was thankful I didn't have anything of any value down there. After several complaints, the office offered to carpet the basement at no charge. I still don't understand why they would spend money to do this knowing that the swamp could overflow again. The basement door was kept closed for the whole year that I lived there because the smell from the flood never did go away. One reason why I moved into this place was because of the laundry facilities onsight. Well, one time I went in there and 9 of the 14 machines were out of order!!! They remained out of order for so long, that I decided to take my laundry elsewhere because this was so frustrating. All in all the service at this complex is lousy and I do not recommend this place for anyone. I just want to comment on some other people's posts. Someone said there are kids constantly running in the street and all over the place and are not being watched by anyone. This is totally true!! Also someone commented that they got new windows. We got a notice that we were going to be receiving new windows back in January. I moved out in May and never heard another thing about these windows. Those would have been nice to have since our gas bills were out of control. Good luck to you if you decide to move here...you can do so much better!

Dear Resident:
Thank you for your comments. We warmly embrace the Deaf Community. We encourage all our employees to participate in training programs offered to educate them in American Sign Language. Admittedly, we may at times have difficulty communicating, but that does not mean we treat our deaf residents any differently. We want all of our residents to enjoy life at Westbrooke Commons and are sorry if you’ve had a bad experience. We take our service programs very seriously and would welcome any specific advice as to how we can better serve the Deaf Community. Your feedback was greatly appreciated.

Dear Resident:
Thank you for you for posting your comments. We value your opinion as we are constantly looking for ways to improve upon our service programs.
After Hurricane Irene (September 2004), most of Upstate NY was burdened by heavy flooding. Unfortunately, the weather can present some unique challenges. We had 13” of rain overnight and the town’s sewer system was filled to max capacity – which meant it achieved negative pressure and could not drain water. Despite the heavy flooding from Hurricane Irene, we had extracted all the water from apartment homes that were affected within 24 hours and replaced all the carpets within less than ten days. We were terribly sorry for the inconveniences this caused our residents and did everything within our ability to minimize the negative affects of the flooding.
Machines in our laundry facilities do require occasional repairs. Sometimes some of the machines are taken off-line for regular maintenance, such as cleaning dryer ducts. The laundry facility is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week and is kept meticulously clean.
The majority of our service requests are completed within less than 24 hours. Exceptions are rare and occur only when additional parts must be ordered to complete repairs.
Children do reside at the apartment community and may at times be running or playing outdoors, as is their nature. We do not discriminate against families with children, to do so would violate Fair Housing Laws.
$500K worth of new windows and patio doors were installed in 2005. Some areas had previously received new windows and therefore they were not replaced in those areas. Additionally, we've installed new balconies, new fencing and a new pool deck in 2005.
Westbrooke Commons is a charming apartment community; we welcome you to visit today! Call 585-334-9280 for current information regarding our lovely apartment homes. Thank you once again for sharing your opinion, we greatly appreciate it.
