While there are definitely worse places to live than Westbrooke, it is NOT a safe neighborhood. Recently, I talked to a guy whose $8,000 motorcycle was stolen right out of the bed of his truck in a Westbrooke parking lot. Another time within the last few months there were 4-5 people outside of my window at 3:15 in the morning talking about which car in the parking lot was the easiest to steal. For the money that I'm paying to live there, I should at least be able to feel safe.
As far the services provided, the office staff is rarely attentive or helpful, and the maintenance department is really slow. Lindsey is nice and returns e-mails and calls promptly, while the other people in the office pretend like you don't exist. I seriously can't WAIT to be out of this lease!

We recommend that residents concerned about the criminal statistics of the neighborhood contact the local police department for official statistics. We thoroughly screen all applicants, a process which includes a stringent criminal investigation. Additionally, as a precautionary measure, our community hires a security firm to randomly patrol the community. Lastly, the community is located in the quiet suburb of Henrietta. With the beautiful landscaping, brick and white siding, newly constructed balconies, new vinyl fencing, etc. we feel that the community has wonderful curb appeal and offers a private residential setting in close proximity to convenient shopping, major thruways and Rochester Institute of Technology. So your complaint about safety is, some guy claimed to have a bike stolen, and some people might have been talking about car safety.

I suggest EVERYONE avoid this opinion. Westbrooke Commons has its fair share of problems, but I guarentee that that crime is not one of them. I would walk around on the phone every night, at times well past midnight, and never felt unsafe even once. My walks would take me around both sides of the apartment complex. While there is a few things that should certainly be improved upon, you are NOT entering a ghetto. This is probably the first time this person has ever lived outside of his gated community.
