I lived at Barney Square on the State Street side of the building in a 1BR 2-story apartment on the top 2 floors of the building. It was the best apartment at the best price that I've seen in this area. We had beautiful huge windows, tons of storage space, and 1 1/2 bathrooms. One of the laundry rooms was on my floor, just around the corner, but I didn't use it that much - a little expensive and not always working. I only heard my neighbors if they were in the hallway, coming or going. Other than that, I think the walls and floors must be made out of concrete. We had beautiful views of the city and could see the holiday parade fireworks. Very close to GE, I-890, and the newly-renovated downtown area. The close parking lot is always full by about 5:30, but there's always the far lot or on-street parking, which is free on the weekends. I did rent parking in the basement for my last year and a half, although the parking is tight if you have a big SUV or truck parking next to you and the door sometimes broke (you learn how to manually open the door). Maintenance is always busy, but they do respond timely, depending on the magnitude of your problem. My only quasi-complaint is that most of the management and maintenance smoke, so you can always smell where they've been and they liked to smoke right outside of the office too. But, what a great apartment! I would have bought my apartment if I could!
