I lived in Wade Lupe Townhouses for the past 2 years or so. My first studio had a severe mildew problem, so I was moved to another studio. The current studio also has a basement like smell that gets into your clothes. Constant cleaning is necessary. I also had issues with my toilet and it took a week to get it fixed. The washroom has really old washers and dryers that frequently break. The apartments are old and are not energy efficient, so electric heating bills will be high in the winter. The noise from the Police Station across the street can be annoying too. I spoke with a lot of my fellow neighbors and the consensus is that this place leaves a lot to be desired.
Don t get me wrong, this place isn t terrible. It is close to GE and Union so it has a great location. It is right by the library and in walking distance to the new theater. The location is pretty safe, but don't let down your guard. I think this is an ideal place to start out, but you will eventually want to find a nicer place.

I quite agree. I started out in a studio and briefly upgraded to a 1 BR over the summer - that was nice, but the security lights blared in my window even through the dark curtains. Now I am back in a studio at the top of the hill.
