Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2008

After living here for over two years, I renewed my lease for the final time. Since minute one, I have struggled with bugs in the apartment due to gaps in the door and window frames. Their first answer was packing tape to seal the windows, the second : to caulk the screens in. That's right, I cannot remove my screens to clean the windows. Maintenance routinely enters without permission - regardless of how many times I request to be notified ahead of time.
Community manager could care less about her residents - she is unfriendly, and her lack of interpersonal skills really hinders her ability to do her job well in a 'luxury' community. For over $2k month (and it really does depend on the day - if you don't like the rent, come back tomorrow), I should not have 10 year old carpet in here, chipping cabinetry, leaky faucets, or a front door with a gap big enough for a SLUG to crawl through. And yes, it happened already, so that's how I know. And the office could care less.
I feel most bad for the leasing agents at the office - one for dealing with an uncaring manager who does little to help situations - and two, for dealing with 300 apartments of complaining residents!!!!!! Just wait till you have a real problem too, because the only person who cares less than the community manager is the maintenance manager.
By the way, we have had a new manager every year I've lived here. Doesn't say much for the company as a whole, either.

Guess you got charged when you left.... people who right reviews like this are full of it. You renewed??? Obviously it wasn't so bad!! I live here too and although with an attitude at times, the community manager does work with the rent for renewal. AND NODI? I couldn't ask for a better maintenance guy. The other 2 guys are great too.... I can agree to the fact I don't like the newest maintenance man. Too grumpy to be with the nice ones. And the only thing I can say about the guys entering your apartment is... read your flyers! My guess is you were one of the nasty neighbors who just threw yours on the ground. The only thing we agree on... I feel for the leasing agents. Their boss is a tough one to deal with.

Ha I still live here... as much as this place blows its temporary until something better comes along... oh wait try to find a decent looking apt on long island!
Considering that I had to take legal action against them for entering illegally (no it wasn't a scheduled visit - I'm not a crappy neighbor) and I had the police here for theft on behalf of maintenance... I'd get some facts before you assume.
I'm glad you think this is a great place to live. Obviously you haven't had a problem. I miss the first manager here. She actually cared and tried to help. Wait till you have something that needs to be fixed that they can't / don't want to fix. Then we'll see how great you think they are. And Garry and Rino are great maintenance guys. They will go out of their way to help you. BUT they do not make the decisions, if they can't fix it, you're screwed.
And I don't consider negotiating your rent increase to 1% lower 'working' with you... and they will only negotiate if you're 'WAY' over market rent... words from the horses mouth. I mean, the manager.
