Let me start by saying we started off renting from Home Properties and we loved it! Then, they were sold to Morgan Communities, and everything went way downhill! When we came to view the apartment, the staff was very nice and the demo apartment was beautiful. We asked to see the apartment we would personally be renting or one like it and there was "nothing available". I believed it at the time, but soon found out that they just said that to keep us from seeing the way the rented apartments look. The demo apartment was updated, nice carpets, clean...the perfect place. Our apartment was filthy, 8 things were already broken (including the front door), the walls were full of patched holes and were not painted, the air conditioner hardly works, the carpets smelled and the neighbors are so noisy! Also, be aware that not every building has laundry, so be prepared to walk through the unplowed parking lot with your laundry to do it. The maintence guys act like you're crazy when you tell them something is broken, and they basically just shrug their shoulders and say "oh well". The office staff doesn't really put effort into settling neighbor disputes. I feel we were tricked into moving here, and given a second chance, we would never do it again!

I am a current resident here, and I totally agree with your post. The office staff are rude, especially Karen and Melissa. I hate the fact that you cannot see the apartment before you rent it. Who in the hell would buy anything without seeing it first.
