This was by far the worst place I have ever lived in, and that is saying a lot. Was it always bad for me.....well no. They were really super nice to me up until I signed my lease and then all hell broke loose. Oh jeez where to start. I hope you got a while because this could take some time. I was told they would redo the kitchen floor before I moved in since it was peeling up from the walls. Despite reminding them countless times I still have not heard anything back, 6 months later. There is something in the lease about how much they will charge you if you do not clean certain things before you leave. Well the problem is 3/4 ($185 is what they would've charged me if it was not cleaned when I left, to be exact) of the stuff was dirty when I moved in. So when I asked them for the money I just got laughed at. Ok so apparently it's fine if they leave everything a mess, but they can charge me $25 if there is more than an inch of frost in the freezer (to bad there was 4inches all the way around when I moved in). The place had a leak before I moved in which Cathy said "Will be fixed before you move in" and because of the leak there is a giant brown stain on the ceiling which she also told me would be painted over. Imagine my surprise when i wake up at 3am to find a steady flow of water dripping down onto a power strip, my cable modem, my computer, basically everything electronic in my apartment. I told them that morning about it and when I contacted them to check on the work, I was made to feel like a complete moron because "they (the workers) had been up there for over an hour today". Oh oops sorry, what was I thinking, I shouldnt expect them to do that it is only THEIR JOB!!!. I often wonder what they did that whole time on the roof because they sure weren't fixing the hole because it leaked the very next rain we got. Scotch tape cant fix everything gentlemen, sorry. When I moved in 1/2 of the heaters did not work. Their solution the first couple times I brought this up was to check the circuit breaker. Which makes sense I mean the breaker prolly turned itself on and off a couple times just to mess with me. So by the time I finally got them to come out and check it, despite repeatedly telling them which heaters were busted, they only checked the ones I told them worked. And they wrote me a little note acting like I was an idiot saying "maybe you should pull your couch out further so you can feel the heat, because it works fine". Hey geniuses, that one has always worked fine, maybe you should check the ones that I told you dont work. So 12 days later I actually had heat in my apartment. That's fine I guess, who needs heat in upstate NY in January right' I get my first electric bill....$170 . Turns out one of the heating elements in the water heater was dead, so the other one had to make up for it. Basically my water heater had to run 24 hours a day. The replaced it with a "larger" tank so I could have more hot water. The problem was it didnt work. After 36hrs of no hot water someone came over to look at it and told me to wait a while and it should be fine. So at 10:15pm when I call to tell them it's not working and I need it to be fixed (not taking a shower for 2 days doesnt make you that popular at work ya know), the maintenence guy on call informed me "it's not worth my time to come out there". Oh really, MY BAD! What was I thinking, I mean I only pay $575/month to live here, why should anything work' I will spare you all the rest of the stories, bottom line this place is junk. Think I am making this up' Get in contact with me, I have 80 emails between Cathy and myself, countless photos, and witnesses. I do not mess around.
