My fiance and I have been living here at Quayside for about 1 and a half years now. One thing that is great is that you can start out with a small apartment as we did and you only have to sign one 12 month lease. When that 12 months are up then you don't have to sign anymore leases, jsut give them a 30day notice to leave and no questions asked. Or, like we are currently doing, transfer to a new large apartment in the building.
We have had great luck with our current palce and Dorothy, our landlady is the best ever. She plants flowers which started me planting outside my apartment on the 3rd Floor of the interior courtyard. Oh, did I mention theres a huge INTERIOR courtyard, with all the old archetecture you can stand with a glass elevator at one end. Within the time we've been here maintence has changed slightly. All you have to do is leave a note on the maintence board and they will either call or leave you a note on your door. We're all still working on a better way but people need to understand to have a great community it needs the community to work on solutions for problemns not to complain and be agitated about them.
Parking can be tight late at night. For a while I wouldn't get out of work until around 10.30pm so when i got home there might not be any parking, although there is the city lot that is free on weekends and nights, cars must be moved before 8-9am or they do actually ticket. I've noticed that the Capt JP cruiseline are having an employee watch our lot for ppl parking and walking to the cruise ship, and he's stopped me a few times until he realizes that i live there. I don't mind that at all because that means he's doing his job. One last thing regarding parking is a strange thing; the parking spots were made a number of years ago when many cars weren't as wide as they are now. In otherwords, my fiances hyundai fits great but my neighbors full size pick-up, not so much.
The rear lot can be slightly creapy late at night for may, especially women, ok lighting but it's still creapy.
The archetecure is amazing. It is wonderful to be able to go out for a walk anytime. During the good weather there is a musician outside of the beatshop on River street which is also part of our gigantic building along with a great luncheon bistro, hair salon, bead shop, plenty of antiques and so much more so close.
