There is a maintenance check that comes every few months where you are told the maintenance guys and a staff from the building will come to check the apartment, whether you are home or not. Since we have a dog, I wanted to stay home for when they come so I took the day off from work and waited ALL day but they never showed up! They didn't even bother calling to let me know they decided to cancel the maintenance check that morning since they were short of staff.
