Unhappy resident

I am a long time resident- 3 years and counting. I keep thinking that with each building manager, the building will get better, amenities fixed, the movie room back opened, the billiards room and the pool and spa area opened (closed since before the holidays and not opening until late summer/early fall. Given the high rents in comparison to the White Plains area, you would think that these amenities would be operational after three years. While cosmetic remodeling (new furniture) and cleaner lobby and common areas have occurred, it should be expected not celebrated when the building meets it promises and contractual obligations. Rents go up every year; projects begin and take longer than anticipated with dates and deadlines passing. Problems persist with the ventilation system drawing in smoke from outside or from other smokers' apartments. The attitude towards residents, is we will find a new tenant if you leave." A tenant Association has been formed. Why do I stay, I keep believing the lure of promises of a better building. It is a very convenient location and is fairly secure.
