One City Place is over-rated. Their main priority is to collect the rent checks each month. They could care less about the needs and rights of the residents. Almost 2 months after moving out-- I still had not received my security deposit back. I called the leasing office to inquire about the missing check. After revisiting their records, they told me that I never put down a deposit! They claimed that the only money i paid at lease signing was a $500 dollar amenity fee and certified check for the first month's rent.
Woah now--- so basically they are saying that they let someone move in without a deposit' That certified check that I paid WAS my security deposit!!! I signed a 17 month lease with the incentive that I would get my FIRST MONTH'S RENT FREE. So basically, One City Place TOOK my deposit and applied it to the first month's rent (the so-called 'free' first month) and claimed that I never put down a deposit.
That is called STEALING.
As the manager is explaining to me that "i never put down a deposit"-- I can feel my blood start to boil. I had to tell her to LOOK AGAIN at the lease records--- what does it say''' 17 months with first month rent FREE.
She finally sees the error-- and says "Well it looks like you did pay a security deposit with a certified check. And it looks like there was an agreement for first month free rent. But that deposit was TAKEN and applied to your first month's rent. I'll have to reprocess this and it will be another couple of weeks until you receive the check" She wasn't even apologetic about the situation. She was barely able to bring herself to say "sorry about that" just before I hung up the phone.
Unbelievable. They took MY MONEY-- money that I would have never seen again had I not spoken up and asked about. Dealing with the incompetent and evasive staff of city place has been described as "like pulling teeth" by other reviews on this site. That is entirely accurate.
Renters BEWARE. If you don't want to deal with thieves--- hold on to your hard-earned cash and look elsewhere.

| I just wanted to take a moment to respond to your statements about One City Place. My name is Jason Allison, and I am the new Property Manager here at One City Place as of this year. I would welcome you to contact the office and speak with myself about any issues that you had during your stay with us. If there is anything that we can do I am more than willing to try. All I ask is that before you start to call people names and slander everyone that you at least come to the office and give me the chance to correct the problem. I am sorry for the bad experience that you had here at One City Place with the return of your deposit and the one month free that you received and would love to try and correct the problem. I know that you are or were waiting on receiving your deposit back???please let me know if you are still waiting or if you have received it. I would also like to respond to the ???former employee.??? First, I would like to state that this ???former employee??? was never an employee of One City Place and was contracted through an agency as a temp. This was made very clear on our behalf that the assignment was only a temp assignment and could possibly turn into a full time assignment at a later date. After several ???No Shows??? to work and ???Arriving Late??? several times we did make the decision to release her and requested another temp to fill the temp position. Sincerely, Jason Allison | |

As a former employee of one city place I would like to respond to you. I believe that the staff in the leasing office are heartless jerks. I was hired at one city place under the false pretense that it was a perm position. Afetr two months of working very hard and over achieving in every aspect I was told my job was only temp. No manager bothered to inform me. After hearing rumors, I had to ask a colleage to be honest. After putting my heart and soul into this position I was told I was covering for someone on leave and I would be demoted. Shortly after there was a horrible tragedy in my family. When I phoned the news I was told not to return. I have never been so outraged by the actions of these poeple. Let me tell you something these people do not care about anyone but themselves. They bad mouth every single resident in the building, they dodge resident meetings because nothing works, they say things like " oh these people are throwing away their money, their too rich to notice" I would also advise you all to look elsewhere.

The treatment that OCP put you through is absolutely baffling and unacceptable. I am genuinely sorry that you had to endure all of that BS. But in the end, you were better off moving on. You don't want to work with heartless a**holes.
