Once Nice Building, in Slow Decline

I have lived in this building for almost 6 yrs now, and will probably be leaving at the end of my current lease. This was once an upscale building, but it has been slowly declining over the last couple of years. It reminded me of a nice hotel when I moved in, but once clean hallways, elevators, lobby, etc. are starting to look dirty, threadbare, and in need of paint & new carpeting. This is especially noticable since I travel for work and am gone for weeks at a time. Every time I come back I notice the place looking a little more "ratty" than the last.
The amenities, however, are nice. Front desk concierge/doorman who signs for packages; full gym; on-site dry cleaning, outdoor pool, etc., make for convenient place to live. Rents however, are on the steep side, which would be acceptable, if the building was kept up better. Apartments are not that large, but are quiet. Nice views of the Hudson River from the balconies. Overall, not a bad place to live, if you stay in your apartment, and are not bothered by the overall shabby ambience of the public areas.
Even though I've had little interface with them, the Rental Management staff strikes me as none too bright. Original Manager & concierge staff when I moved in were very friendly and helpful, but were replaced a few years ago by the current staff. Don't know what happened there.
I'm sure there has to be cleaner, nicer buildings in Westchester, for the same money.
Too bad, because this was once a very nice place.
