Here is the true story of living at Fir Hill. I've have been living here for 3 years now and I a student at the University so here is the real story...
The Good:
Convenience( the apartments are literally on the campus making walking to class very convenient and quick)
The staff(I have never had any issues getting things fixed in my apartment and contrary to what was written by someone else, the staff is very knowledgeable,courteous and seems literate to me)
Residents(Fir Hill is very diverse in ages, race and economic status and most people I come in contact with going in/out are very nice. p.s alot of professors live here too!)
Safety(I like knowing that there is a security guard on the premises almost everyday and the entry is well lit, secured and that there is a camera that allows me to see who is coming and going)
The Bad:
Parking(There is not enough parking but maybe this is due to the fact that alot of students park here that do not live here to walk to their classes so maybe we should blame Akron U for their obvious inadequate parking)I am also fortunate enough to have a parking spot in the garage now but I would rather pay $45 then $110 that Akron U charges for a parking pass for nonexistent parking!
The Ugly:
There are a few "bad apples" that feel that it is neccessary to act in an inappropriate manner and this might be due to the fact that they did not mature enough before departing from mommy and daddy.
