Moderately Satisfied

We moved into Hunt Club apartments about a year and a half ago and thus far we have been moderately satisfied. Our first unit was a one bedroom. When we moved in, it had new carpet and freshly painted walls. Occasionally you'd find long, black hairs stuck to the wall by paint or dwelling by the baseboards and it smelled odd for quite a while. Overall, the apartment was nice and had a charming fireplace. The staff were very kind and the grounds were well maintained.
After a year, we decided to upgrade to a one bedroom with a den. When we viewed the apt. we were reassured that the maintenance staff had not done any repairs yet and that things were going to be spruced up before we moved in. So far, it had been the best looking one bedroom with a den that we'd seen. We even had to wait a few extra days to move in because they had painting and repairs scheduled. Upon moving in we were extremely dissatisfied. The apt. looked exactly the same as it did when they said nothing had been done. Not only was the carpet noticeably worn and stained in some spots, but after about a day we realized that the carpet was full of pet hair and we are allergic to pets! The staff was reluctant to do anything about the carpet and offered to steam clean it. We still have pet hair lingering. They also tried to regrout the bathroom tile after our complaints of stained, cracked, dirty tile. They did not regrout the floor properly, so they decided to retile the floor. It was a poor tile job... tiles are crooked and some have tiny cracks, the grout lines are uneven and there's dried glue sticking out of the tiled baseboards in some spots.
Overall, I really think it depends on the unit, or the staff members you're dealing with. Some of the units are nice, and on par with what you'd expect for the price and age of the apartment buildings. Others don't fair so well. If Hunt Club would pay attention to the small stuff that's cheap and easy to fix (like better paint jobs, replacing dingy blinds, or repairing tac strips) their apartments would come across much better. Had we been asked to give a good recommendation last year, we probably would have, but after our most recent experience in our new apt. we are sorry to report that we would not recommend the Hunt Club for fellow apartment dwellers.
