If you're looking for a cheap place to live for a while where you probably won't be shot at, Timber Top is great.
I'm a young single woman and never once felt unsafe.
Because of all the staircases, ravines, and the lake, though, I really wouldn't recommend it to anyone with children due to safety concerns.
The couple times I had to call maintenance, they showed up quickly and fixed the problem correctly.
The office staff were always nice and polite.
While I admit that the noise level could get high sometimes, it didn't really bother me, but I did get a pretty good idea of what my neighbors liked to watch on television.
Also, my apartment faced the parking lot and it got pretty noisy on Friday and Saturday nights.
I never had a problem getting around in my little tiny car-- they do keep the place very well-plowed.
The parking was a little problematic, though.
Would it kill them to have assigned spaces or maybe a designated guest lot' If you get home late at night, you may have to walk about a block to get to your apartment.
I don't like to swim, so I can't give any opinion on the pool.
The thing I liked most about Timber Top was the privacy.
I don't know if it's because the complex is so big, but the staff completely leave you alone.
Granted, I paid my rent on time every month and never caused a problem, but I was REALLY happy to never have anyone in my face.
There are some issues, but overall Timber Top is pretty nice.
If I hadn't bought a house, I would have signed another year's lease.
