Look for the little things

Lots of bugs and the carpet smelled like cat urine.

Roll out the refrigerator...mine was a mess and looked like it hadn't been cleaned in years.

There was something spilled under the crispers in the refrig that smelled terrrible and was difficult to remove.

If you're looking at an apartment that is on the bottom floor watch out for water when it rains.
