Not only do I have the prestige of saying I live at the Barrington (most people won't admit that).....I feel like I am living at a country club! It is so beautiful here.... the pool, jacuzzi, tennis court, grounds, are exquisitely maintained. The maintenance staff are real cool and I love to go into the office and hang out with the management staff . they are so fun to be around! They feel like family. The best part of being here, for me, is that everything is right here at your fingertips with in minutes of . shopping, eating, exercising (right here in the club house), movies even an amusement park for goodness sake. My kids love it! I drive downtown everyday and it is worth it for me. This really isn t in the snow belt so the snow is not an issue. It is private and safe here for my kids and me . I don t have to worry about anything! I am very happy here can you tell' Oh and the schools are fantastic!

obviouly a person affiliated with Barrington trying to counter the previous review. The gates are left open 50% of the time, thus the safety rating is obviously wrong. Many garages do not have working lightbulbs in the fixtures that are mounted next to every garage door. So the lighting, or lack of it, also contributes to the lack of a safe environment. I find it sad that this is labeled a 'gated' community when the gates are left open or broken more than half the time! Snow is indeed a problem during the winter, many times the drives are not salted and are coated with a layer of ice. The exercise room is very sub-par, with outdated equipment, only one treadmill, and dumbbells that only go up to 25lbs, along with the room just being a large closet, exercising here is a pain and has a maximum capacity of 2 people.
